This assignment focused on developing the skills of “type within image” and “image within type.” For my concept, I chose to center the design around a sea turtle, using it as the main visual element throughout the spreads. While researching potential words or letters to highlight, I explored information about sea turtles and discovered they are an endangered species, with ocean waste being one of the leading threats to their survival. This insight shaped the direction of my layouts, allowing me to not only practice the required design techniques but also bring awareness to an important environmental issue through my work.
